EARTH: Lois Lane is killed

Superman is too late to stop a missile launched at California by Lex Luthor. The damage caused by the missile is strong enough to cause a massive earthquake. Driving along a California road, Lois Lane's car stops due to mechanical failure. A fissure opens up in the road and Lois is trapped in the car as it sinks into the ground, eventually being killed by being buried in dirt.
