Gods reincarnate every 90 years

A world where every ninety years, twelve gods reincarnate as young humans who become cultural icons, adored and despised in equal measure. They have two years to live before they die, burning out their human bodies. The current Recurrence features gods including Lucifer, Baphomet, the Morrigan, and others who manifest as pop stars and celebrities.
