Poker Player becomes new god of death

A world where divine power is proportional to the number of souls a deity holds, making souls a tradeable commodity fought over by Heaven, Hell, and various older gods. Joey Martin, a Las Vegas proposition player, accidentally acquires thirty-six souls as a bar prank and finds himself courted and threatened by every celestial power imaginable. The ravens of Odin, Anubis, Moloch, and the archangel Michael all have competing interests in what Joey does with his collection. Joey instead decides to start his own religion and collect more souls.
