Many different breeds of vampire

A world where vampires have existed throughout human history, but are not a single species. Different strains of vampires evolved independently across different cultures and regions, each with distinct weaknesses, powers, and characteristics. The American strain, born in the 19th century West, is the first new vampire species in centuries, immune to many of the weaknesses of European vampires. Skinner Sweet is the first of this new breed, and Pearl Jones is the second. This world is home to an alternate version of Dracula.
